Golf R flutter or compressor surge (vids included)

So I have noticed a flutter while in D mode on 40-50% throttle in the lower revs (4th-5th-6th gear).
The car struggles/revs hang for a few seconds then picks up and goes. APR tune. Please see below.

    Any ideas? Mods in sig.
    GOLF R - CW - MY10 - 3Dr - DSG - LEATHER - SUNROOF - RNS510 - DYNAUDIO - MDI - 19" Black Talladegas
APR STAGE 2+ - APR Divorced DP - VWR Intake - RS4 Fuel Valve - Neuspeed K04 Turbo Discharge Pipe - BSH Throttle Pipe - HPFP Fuel Pump - SPM FMIC - Hawk Ceramic Pads

Good vid!!! Losing boost 100% could be faulty valve?? Check faults. If you decide to replace valve and still there then possibly get it re-flashed back to standard and test. Something is wrong for sure you need to decide which way to find out.

Change back a gear, don't load such low revs or it will flutter (with any tune, even standard VW software) - remember you have a K04 on that car - The DSG makes it worse as it forces itself up gears (economy mode) where in a manual transmission you would never do it. An open intake makes it more audible (even on a stock car) - we can also reprogram your DSG so it's more pro active and will do a much better job at keeping you in the correct gear

    its in 'D' mode,

are you suggesting he drives it in manual mode to hide a tune issue? There is no reason it should flutter under load, as he is not backing off throttle.

The R will flutter under load, stock !

I could make mine do it on demand

As much as I don't intend to defend APR, it happens, stock

The R and and D mode is stupid. Drive it.

You got me all curious about the DSG reprogram.

    Same here.

@ APR - Does a DSG tune come with your Stage 1 tune?

    Looks like about 1800rpm.
How much boost are you expecting below 2k rpm?
Makes sense you are hearing the airflow whilst the diverter is open.

I don't see why the DSG would drop you into a gear where the revs are too low for decent power, the joys of trying to get economy from a performance vehicle?

Pretty sure DSG tuning is separate from ECU tuning.

No, a number of tuners can modify torque limiters in the DSG via the ECU
