Golf R - Error Stabilisation Control ESC - HELP!
** Problem Solved - Dead Battery**
Happy new year everybody
So it's not been the best start to 2016..... went to start my mk6 Golf R (DSG) about an hour ago and it won't turn over..... when i turn the key i can here a clicking sound but nothing apart from a few 'beeps' from the dash and an error message.
The first time i tried it i got an "Error Stabilization Control ESC" message along with most of the warning lights showing. I then went back 10 minutes later and got the same clicking noise with no engine start, but this time the message i got was "Move Selector Lever to Position P/N!" which can be seen in this video i recorded.

I checked and the gear stick was in P, so i tried switching it through the gears then back into P, turned the key again but same result.
This is the first time i've had an issue like this and i'm just wondering if anyone has experienced the same thing.
The car has had an APR stage 1 for well over a year and a half and the Stage 2+ was installed over 4 months ago. I've read a few threads where people have had a similar issue in the UK and it doesn't seem likely that the mods would have caused the issue.... is this true? Am i likely to have warranty issues getting this fixed seeing that i've modded the car?
The only thing that i can think of that may have caused the issue is a couple of weeks ago some scumbag tried breaking into the car.... both front doors were slightly bent where someone had wedged them to try and stick in a coat hanger to open the doors. Obviously that didn't work but i had to take the car in to a panel beater to straighten out the doors and they had to replace the plastic trim down the side as they cracked it on both doors.
I'm wondering if the panel beater has tripped something when they worked on the doors?
The other thing that i can think of would be a dead battery..... not sure if i would get the lights coming on if it was dead?
Anyway, any advice would be appreciated as i really can't be shelling out loads of cash on this.
Any recommendations on which dealers are welcoming to cars that have been modded? If it is something that can be claimed on warranty i really don't want screwing because i've done a few mods.
Cheers
Will
