Golf R drive invitaion

Bit disappointing as I thought it was a track day like when the time the GTI was introduced. Not sure what benefit they hope to gain from a casual test drive around the block. Would have been better having the opportunity to throw it around a track.

Yes but you're just lucky I didn't pitch up at the same time with my magic card, they would probably have spat on you whilst kicking you out the front door

The blue box includes a letter which says it is inviting current R (as in 32 or 36) drivers to be the first to test the new R

Was it lost in the mail? Most of us had our test drives done before the actual launch date LOL. Quality marketing hehe

I got one as well - it would be probably a better idea for them to drive my "R"

Got one in the mail too - tells me to visit a dealer, no track day - just marketing.

I recommend that those who receive the invitation use the invitation. This shows to VW that the marketing is working and then they'll do more, and likely more interesting and interactive things.
