Sounds like a flogged cv joint by your description....
G'day guys,
Haven't seen this one come up before some thought I'd Start a new thread about it.
Over the last couple of days I have noticed my car ( manual R) making a clunking noise. This noise can only be replicated under heavy acceleration in left turns! Mostly cornering in 2nd gear and giving a bootful to exit the corner. With ESP on it will occur just before the ESP threshold. With it off it will happen until I change gears or reduce the load. The rev range is around 3500 or 4000 and up when it occurs. The car is stage 2 + with no suspension or handling mods. The noise is associated with a light vibration and the clunk is quite dull and with a frequency of clunk clunk clunk ( as the words are normally read - if that makes sense).
The noise usually won't occur on a straight road. Also, the car is around 15 days from being due for its 30000km service
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Yeah I was thinking that or engine/gearbox mounts. Thanks mate
Find an empty car park and do left/right circles at full lock - that will normally highlight CV problems
(I hate to admit it, but in my cash strapped youth I once swapped stuffed CV joints over, left to right and right to left, this places the force on the other side of the internals which are not worn out, but if you do backwards full lock circles it will clunk. This saved money and extended parts usable life)
