IMO, not worth the money ..... Stg II Carbonio is essentially a very expensive piece of carbon fibre piping .... have a look at the std pipe ... not too many restrictions there ... the big gains are made by replacing the std airbox bits up to the mass airflow meter ....

An turbo to intercooler pipe upgrade would be worth more (powerwise) IMO ... have a look at Neuspeed or AWE Tuning for that ...

Yeah - you're probably right. Though, it is a really cool looking carbon fibre pipe!
Thanks for the advice on the turbo / intercooler pipe.

That is seriously crazy dollars for a cat back exhaust?@#!@ I don't care how you sell it, a cat back exhaust isn't $4k. Doesn't matter much for me though, I tend to lean on my cars pretty card every day so having even stage 1 might not be a good idea. The tunes are probably very well sorted but I doubt the car would like being belted with 240kw 24/7 which is how mine will be driven

I "lean" on my cars as hard as legally possible and having run APR on the GTI (with a whole host of other mods) for 3yrs and on the Tig for 5000km now have not broken anything .....

188kw/330NM Golf R will be too tame for me .... I have a Tiguan (sorry the wife does) that makes significantly more power than that ....

I'm still not so sure. Everyone's definition of driving hard is different but coming from a Ford where I am now, they barely hold together when standard let alone with more power! I'm new to the VW/Audi equipment so give it some time and things might change.

Ooops. You're very correct. The full exhaust (turbo back) is $3995. The price and the link is correct, just the label! I've gone back to edit it. Thanks

I would've thought tuneing it would help the car perform better... so the better its performing it could be leaned on more... just make sure u service its regurlery and let it warm up and cool down.

Lets just say I use the revlimiter as an indicator as to when to change gears ....... all the time .....

I've owned 25 cars in the last 20 years, 7 of which had been VWs and 4 of those have been modified (and 1 custom built) and never had an issue with any of the modified ones ....

Other brands have been less good in that department. A modified BMW M3 had Vanos issues and burst an oil cooler twice ..... (..... 8000+rpm apparently not that good all the time .....)

APR Stg 1 is relatively mild as far as serious mods go and will have no effect on the R's reliability IMO .... it will just make it much much nicer to drive .... once you have had it for a few 1000 kms take it for a trial run .... I'be pretty confident you'll end up buying the ECU upgrade thereafter ....

Yeah fair point. To be honest, after stepping out of my current POS, I'll just be happy to be driving something good again! I'm sure we'll all be discussing power in the very near future
