The difference in price between the 3dr and 5dr on drive away should be $2047.50 (which is $1500 + 33% LCT + 5% stamp duty (both NSW and VIC have 5% on cars in this price range, other states might be a touch more expensive or cheaper).

Yup.... about $2k after all of those taxes etc. Makes for quite a difference.

I think its easier to add Nav to the car later on (the stock version or third party) than to add doors... just a thought

That's the best idea, you'd save money (getting the unit from Europe etc), save on delivery times, reduce the LCT... With the LCT it may not even cost you much more to add it later at the Dealers or other suppliers.

ordered three door last august 09 paid deposit 2k with all options,dsg,recaros,xeon,ccc,white, two door, no sunroof,19" black wheels. So far I know July/august delivery. All info was put down with tba.
APR stage two booked and ready.

Have APR released details on their exhaust for the R yet?
I think I'll be doing the Stage II as well, but at the moment I can only guestimate how much it'll cost cause of the exhaust not being available yet.

yeah - I already have... and it says "(Note: TTS/Golf R - Catback exhaust coming soon)"

Also, I would hope tha the R exhaust is going to be closer to the GTI's price than the S3's price

Nice spec, the white and black wheels looks good. Did the dealer push for the $2k deposit? Mine only requested $500 which was fine with me given the long wait!

No mucking around with the APR gear though, it's always good to have a guinea pig on the forums
But I'd only consider the ECU remap at best.

Just to make it clear to everyone. At this point of time we know what specs and what options are on golf R and you can place an order on the car, subject to pricing. Thats if you want to be amongst first people to drive golf R

my order was placed with BW Moorabin for a 3 door, but advised 2 weeks ago no 3 doors!

good to hear VWA have announced otherwise.
