Golf R 3 door/5 door speculation/information thread

I've gone off the idea of a GTI anyway and should stick to the plan . With a wait that long they are going to be very common.

Yep... and why wouldn't happen when VW lets buyers select from a multitude of options.

And as much as it pisses me off, I won't be happy in the GTI even if it is 3 door. So direction change #75.... find a colour that works in 5 door.

IMO, the blue on Mk5 R32's looks the business but with the rear end changes, it just doesn't work on the Mk6 R

So I know people have been putting photos of the R's aside in a special folder on their desktops....start posting them! I'm thinking either Candy White or United Grey (if available?) will help me get over those 2 extra doors....

You could get some putty colour matched and fill in the door gaps to make it look 3 door-ish

Doesn't solve the B Pillar problem but it solves the door line issues for the exterior aesthetics.

Based on overseas, it looks as though we'll have a relatively boring and unimaginative selection of 4 tones and 1 colour. Rising Blue Pearl Effect being the only colour.
Candy White, Reflex Silver Metallic, United Grey Metallic, and Deep Black Pearl Effect being the 4 tones.

LOL true, but watch people get upset about calling their "colour" a tone hehe.
So the blue is the only R exclusive colour?

Found this, not a video but no idea why people use YouTube for static images? United Grey with black wheels. If we get that combo, I think I've found a 5dr I like!
