I think VW need to be accountable for their 5.7s claim for the manual
DSG Operation.

In case you didn't notice he was dumping the clutch on the takeoffs in the manual so the same applies.
You don't need to use launch control to get a fast takeoff without delay in the DSG under normal circumstances either.
Neither is shifting gears yourself but the DSG is a hell of a lot faster, uses less fuel, is consistent and puts out less emissions for the tree huggers.R's DSG is supposed to be better off the line than any DSG previously, but as UK R owners have reported still not perfect.
Drive it in manual mode and you won't have that problem and the six speed DSG is different to the seven speed DSG in the way it operates.I'd have to drive them both before making a final decision. I've driven a MK6 118TSI DSG quite extensively and dont like it .... as smart as it is I can and often do catch it off-guard, which never happens to me in a manual .....

Sunroof just add weight to the car and leak. More of a useless option compared to some of the others but personal preference I guess and got to get what you want.
Shame if that was the deal breaker after waiting so long.
Ps just noticed the Golf R info is up on the APR site.
Leak? LOL when was the last time you had a car with a sunroof, 1982? Seriously, you've optioned a reversing camera on a small hatchback and then saying a sunroof is a useless option? ROFL! Personal preference indeed.
It would be a shame after the wait, but the idea of spending this much money for a compromise doesn't rate highly.
Yeah probably ok these days but Justin's 2006 MK5 roof was leaking this week.
I think a camera would be more worthwhile if you don't run over your kids instead of looking cool.
Agree though, a lot to spend for compromise but depends how much you want to get into one. why not just order one and get a runaround for 6 months??
I agree that Sunroofs in modern 2010 cars, if well maintained and looked after will not have any leaking problems. and for $1900 its not THAT expensive for something that can bring better resale value to the car.
Its definitely better value imo then spending almost the same amount on Xenon headlights, especially when other car brands charge no where near as much as VW do for them. and afterall... the car comes with headlights anyway. I know you will have people that will justify it in the opposite direction and say they are a must and once you have them you never go back... which may well be true! But not for $2000.
However a reversing camera is so cheap ($500 from memory?) it is a no brainer, and you would just option it on. I have heard that the rear viability on the new MK6 Golf to be quite bad so having the reversing camera there can pay for itself if you ever have a child/animal anything behind the car that you did not see.
