Yes. Ended up with $39,900 driveaway for white, 5 door, DSG, sunroof, 18's and RVC. Retail for this is $51,000 ish I think so I was happy.

    Good price pgm.

They're still a good car and the current deals are competitive but you're going to take an absolute bath on the re-sale in 1 year's time when Mk7's start rolling in and the Mk6 is naturally falling behind in standard equipment etc.
Are the Mk7 GTi's even confirmed or was it going to be based on sales in Europe as to whether the rest of us can get one??

We don't have word on pricing from VWA yet, but there's no doubt that the Mk7 GTI will be sold in Australia. It's a huge seller, and VW would be crazy to drop it from the lineup.

    Hey all,

Just so you know if anyone is looking we just ordered a 90tsi dsg in grey with tints for about $24850. drive away. I believe there was a chartered accountant discount in there of about 900 as well.

Hi a new basic petrol manual Golf is about $21k, and a diesel about $31k.

Why is the diesel 50% more expensive please?

    Thanks.

The cheapest diesel hatch is (now) the Golf Bluemotion, with quite a bit of funky high-efficiency / low emissions technology, and is of a higher general specification than the base petrol model, so you're not comparing otherwise-identical cars.

The old 77TDI Trendline hatch model has been dropped. And even this was of a higher spec than the base petrol Golf.

Thanks Adam. I have noticed some 103TDI DSG's have a new style gear shift lever without a 'T' at the top, just a vertical lever.

Could someone please advise when that was introduced, and is it a sports pack thing?

    Thanks.

For anyone in WA, I'd definitely recommend Bunbury Volkswagen if looking for a new car. Got a great price on a Golf 90TSI DSG for under $24k drive away (including corporate discount)

Have a look at the following post, and the threads on the model year changes:

I think that change was MY11, from memory.

What would be a fair price now on an R?

I've been quoted 55k on a demo MY12 (1000km on the clock) Rising Blue, RNS510.
or 58K on a brand new MY13 (ETA december) Black R, with RNS510

I don't particularly want the RNS510 as I'll be putting a Zenec in anway. And I would like leather (sales guy just keeps carrying on about aftermarket leather).

I love Rising Blue, but Black would be best as it's a company vehicle and will get signage, etc.
