Im only after 103TDI with sports pack, carpet, tint.
Think its better to go with a my11 model without the bluetooth and MDI if its a lot cheaper?
nothing else really changed in my12 right? besides free Bluetooth and mdi as standard?

My budget is only $30k thats why. and i saw some for about $33k D/A on carsales.

Not sure where to post this but hopefully it may help someone here. I know most VW dealers are decent and will deliver your new VW with most likely 40km or less. Here's a link taken from Sydney Daily Telegraph about a lady who purchased a new car from a dealer which already had 185km on the clock, resulting in her taking legal action and winning. The tribunal found that a new car should have less the 100km on the clock.

Im still in the search for a 103tdi. Golf

    Whats the difference in 2010 - 2011 - 2012 models?

There are quite a few bargains that can still be negotiated down for the 2010 models.

should i spend the extra for a 2011-2012 ? i know the 2012 has the free mdi and bt. This is mostly just a $1k option so not worth it to go 2012 if thats all the difference is.

Howdy guys, considering a MK6 GTI want your opinions on this:

    2011 MY11 MK6 GTI
    Manual 5dr
    ACC
    Detroit wheels
    Reverse camera
    35mths warranty
    50kms
    MDI/BT

$41,500 driveaway seems good...not to offend anyone but nervous about reliability issues, are they that common?

That is a very good price for a GTI with all those options IMO. As far as reliability is concerned, I have not really heard of any major issues with manual GTI.

    Good luck.

sounds great - if you really want a manual car. Remember that manuals are harder to move so dealers are more willing to budge on price - but that means worse resale value.

Over 75-80% of GTIs sold are DSG - although if you find a used car buyer wanting a manual only, you are in luck

I wonder if there is still $2500 difference in price between the manual and DSG on a 3 year old GTI though?

i would say it could be greater as there are less buyers and hence a seller needs to drop the price to make it more attractive.

No different when trading in - the dealer will price it lower as it will hang around longer in stock - they also need to factor in the cost of carry (e.g. bank interest, opportunity cost of capital etc) as they all use short term floor plan financing for stock.

Ever wonder why prestige cars get smashed on trade ins, and the dealer markup is like 30%?

holy jeebus, thats an awesome price, ur paying $1500 more than i did, and ur getting a 5dr, acc, detroit wheels and reverse camera. i would be running to put money down on it.
as far as reliabilty goes, ive done a shade over 9000km now since new and the only issue has been the whistle from the water pump which was replaced under warranty. now issues or problems with it besides that. its been very livable, like a honda, and im a honda guy.
dont listen to people dissing the manuals. plenty of buyers would prefer manuals, but are often swayed by resale/ spouses that cant drive for **** and general laziness. manual is pure driving

EXCELLENT price , about 8% buy manual GTI , real men , no problem shifting my last manual , country dealers welcome them .

One of the best manuals you can get , very slick changes out on the B roads .
