I guys, just wanted to check out the spreadsheet to make sure im not getting ripped on my new Golf. Doesnt seem to be working?
Thanks to your spreadsheet I have negotiated $35000 for a bran new Golf 103 TDI auto Comfortline with bluetooth and MDI, white. What do you think of that price? Looks good from the spreadsheet.
From Austral VW in Brisbane.
Mine will live in Noosa, what do you think of the price?
mate... if you're happy, then be happy.
IMO, your price seems a good result for both you and the dealer - which is "Win win" in my opinion. There are certainly people who've got a lower price than you.... but that's not always best as far as I'm concerned.
Ok. Question. Car soon to arrive. NOW..... when i signed the contract....WAAAAY back when....i got certain optionals.....HOWEVER..... dealer took his sweet time putting order in...as i later found out.... AND...now it turns out due to his delay, i get the 2012 model....in which the optionals in the contract are STANDARD in the actual car im getting. SO.... IMO... as it was his delay in the first place...and as the contract is for the 2011 model, which im not getting anyway, then i should not have to pay for those options...which are freeon the car im getting!!! Who agrees? and who thinks im wrong and why? Given that this DELAY cost me three more months of wait... i think on the day of payment if they arc up, i will probably walk away anyway. And then they will be selling the car on and not getting paid for those extras regardless!!!
Your wise opinions pls.

It's been discussed several times, and it's late so I don't have time to search for it...
But essentially, it's between you and the dealer. You negotiated and signed a contract, so you were happy wiht the price.
If you want to tear that up and renegotiate, that's up to you.
If you do manage to convince them to further discount, don't expect to get $270 + $550 off. Note that these items are not "free", they still cost the same as they always have, it's just that the customer no longer pays for them... it comes out of the dealer/VGA margin, lol.
True. But by that token, i signed for a 2011 model. I now get a 2012. They too have changed the terms, though i did not get a say.
So when i query it, its called "re-negotiation".....when they do it...its called....?
i know what yu are saying, and you are right. but i would like to think a contract is what TWO parties agree on. Just because i''m aiming for it to favour me, can it be called re negotiation even though they have already changed the terms (irrespective that the change favours mew too!) .
