If you're wanting to figure out exactly what you have saved or could realistically aim for (based on average %'s of others etc), you could actually download the Golf GTI or Golf R price calculator spreadsheet that I've created, select your state, and then put in the car, option, dealer delivery, CTP, registration and plate costs which are applicable for you. You can use it for literally any car if you just put in your own figures... it's the calculations that matter rather than the contained options and prices.

With Drive away deals happening,

tried to get a 103 TDI Golf (2010 build) to 32K from 35K (MDI + Bluetooth) wasn't achievable.... was I asking too low???:S:S roughly 17%.....

I went into Barloworld on Friday to discuss purchasing a white, 5dr golf gti. They said they had a demo and if I like they could get a driveaway price on it for me. It has 2,500 k's on the clock. Salesperson comes back with $46,500. Open up Drive (The car section in The Age ) Saturday morning and the same car is listed at $45,500.

What is with this?

Depends on extras i suppose , just about to get mine ,was on the water when i walked in 2 weeks ago and it had my specs but no leather

5 door , carbon steel ,tint dk ,camera , teeth, mdi ,18' detroits , sunroof , on road $45,460 , saving $4500 approx .

I think you may be missing the point........it was the exact same car listed for $1000 less. I went in 4pm Friday arvo so there is no way they could've changed the printed price between the time I went in and the ad went to press. Anyways, won't be first choice for purchase or service based on that.

I love my Skoda, but now with the little one I need a run about so figure the GTI is the logical choice without going over the top!

Is that price for DSG or Manual?

Is it a demo? How many kms?

Best I've been able to achieve so far is 2010 5 Door DSG GTI (silver) with ACC, Leather, MDI and Detroits, Drive-away $47,000 (must purchase before 29th June)
