Yes, that is correct. They have stopped taking orders for the 3 door model to make way for the Scirocco...

There are dealers who have taken orders for the Golf R in red. So maybe if you find a nice enough dealer they might be able to still put through a 3 door R order for you.

I guess the strategy is to sit down with them, lay out exactly what you want (and KNOW what you want, don't be asking them questions as though you're still just researching), and let it be very clear that you want a 3 door Golf R and ONLY a 3 door Golf R, and if you can't get that, then you'll go and buy a BMW or something.

This is how we got them to bring the 3 door GOlf R in the first place, because originally they told us they weren't and we complained in exactly the manner I just mentioned

I just got back from having a look at our Local VW Dealer and he told me that they have had a 3 door R on order for a number of weeks and the factory just advised it has been cancelled.... Seems the Dealers might not have much say...

I saw a black 3dr R in a dealership in Brisbane on Tuesday - not sure if it is already sold or not but it was a new arrival (in the last week or so...)

The current nationwide deal on all Golfs (R and GTD excluded) is free on road costs.

Save yourself a few hundred $ by scrapping the useless dealer paint protection. You could also save a further few $ by getting someone aftermarket to do the tinting (since the dealers are just getting them in and then charging you an additional cut etc)

Is it A Good price for 90TSI?

this is my first time to buy a new car, before i ordered this car i did not notice this great forum,so i think i did not get a good price
i ordered a candy white golf 90TSI WITH AUTO 7 SPEED DSG,the only option in my car is bluetooth.
and i got it for $27600 (the RRP for the car is $27490)as finial price, dealer will give me a floor mat as gift and that's all.(CAR IS STILL ON THE WAY TO DEVELIVERY)
after i did some search on this forum,i went to another dealer today and they offer me a much better price, but the thing is i v sign the contract and i have to buy the expensive one.
if it is ok to break the old contract and buy in another dealer?
Just feel a little uncomfortable because i am a foreigner and i am not good at english, and the sale consultant is saying that they are on sale now and you should buy it as soon as possible, if u do not buy it these days ,you have to pay for the delivery fee, stamp duty and so on,i believe him so i sign the contract thay day, after that i found i am really stupid.

did somebody got some experence about this situation?

    sorry for my terrible english.

The price seems alright to me. What is the "much better price"?

I personally don't like the idea of someone signing a contract to purchase something, only to then want to renege on the contract because they've then found a better price. You may also find that there are penalties to you trying to break the contract. So I wouldn't look at breaking the contract unless it was really a MASSIVE difference (like thousands, not hundreds).

It would also depend on which dealer you intended to get the car serviced at afterwards? It might be a bit strange getting your car serviced at the dealer who you broke a contract with if that's the one that is closer to your house or work etc. But then, some people wouldn't care

It is correct that the cars are currently on sale though. The "on road costs" are currently "free" (meaning the dealer or Volkswagen Group Australia are paying them for you), and that's a saving of a few thousand. Whilst you could negotiate a price as good or better even when there is no sale, you'd need to be good at negotiating.

Sounds like a good price to me?
With the current free on roads your looking at $27490+$550 = $28040. (plus floor mats are $250ish)
If you did get less than that you have done better than most. I couldn't even get floor mats thrown into the deal. I didn't have much option though, it was the only car with the specs and colour I wanted that was on it's way, else I had several more months to wait.

the better offer is 27900 with metalic paint, mdi, bluetooth,it is 1000 dollars cheaper, and i got what i want,i like the mdi interface.the sale consultant who sell me the car says that i can not choose the factory options myselve, i have to get a car with some options it has already choosen.
I noticed the penalties if i break the contract,so i am wondering did somebody have a situation like this: )
it is good to know this great forum, thanks a lot for reply me,i feel happy when i saw your reply.
