That's what I thought Dermot. If I managed to get 12% corporate discount on that then it makes the decision between this and a mazda 3 a no brainer.

Edit: I believe those prices I was quoted were for the DSG option (hence the extra 2.5K).

What is your RRP for the 118TSI (no options), Candy White?

A quick question regarding the "Corporate Discount".

Is this discount something that the dealer wears... or do they have to verify all corp particulars because WGA then offers the dealer a rebate??

How does it actually work, and who actual "gives" this discount?

I believe VWA passes the discount on to the dealer in full. As a result, it's no skin off the dealer's nose if you're eligible for corporate plus - better for you, and therefore better for the dealer too. The only caveat I can think of is that the dealer may have a quota for the discount, but I doubt it.

Thx for the reply Adam - I thought that was the case.

Which means that most dealers will climb into their shell after the Corp discount ceiling has been reached (on standard car - no options) - and the person buying the car thinks "gee what a good deal the dealership gave me".. when in reality they should be pushing for another 5% on top. The dealer needs to give a bit also.

So 15% discount should be a standard discount on stock car (10% corp + 5% dealer).. Any extras would need at an absolute minimum another 25% off.

    Dealer delivery

    Hi all,

My wife and I were in at the dealer today trying (in vain) to test drive a 90TSI Manual. The salesman mentioned that as of March 1st, VWA will be enforcing a cap to the dealer delivery charges. I believe it will be $1995 (or there abouts)

    Hi guys

I am looking at buying a 118TSI Comfortline
    DSG
    Metallic Paint (Black)
    Sunroof
    RCD510 Dynaudio
    MDI
    Cloth Sport Package

On road from Solitaire Hawthorn (Adelaide) have quoted me around $43,125. I'm thinking of making an offer of around $37,500-38,000. Is that realistic/acheivable?

Also, I have been considering waiting until the end of June to purchase since it is now almost May. Are VW dealers generally good with end of financial year sales or is it not worth the wait?

    Cheers

    Hey Diop,

    Your offer is achievable.

    My order last week was:

    Golf 118TSI Comfortline DSG
    Candy White
    Sunroof
    RCD510
    Dynaudio
    RVC
    MDI
    Front Fog Lights
    Adaptive Chassis Control
    Window Tint
    Mats

$38,500 drive away in Sydney ... just over 11% discount.

PM me if you want to know where etc.
