Well I don't know if he left of his own accord or was punted - but i've read that his Dad is a senior at one of the other McGrath franchises and got him a break in the industry (washing cars initially).
Question about your name. Is it Jayde?
2019 BMW M3 CS
Hi guys, apologies if its a bit off topic - but I was just wondering if this 2nd hand 118TSI I was quoted was a decent deal or totally off the mark.
2009 Golf MK6 118TSI
DSG
Metallic Paint
Sports Package
Leather
RNS510 + Reverse Camera
Dynaudio upgrade
11,500km (Ex demo)
$38,000 (all charges inclusive except rego, I'm in VIC the car is in NSW)
Appreciate the help guys, thanks!
So the above spec without OR costs and using DD of $1995 would be $46,500 or there abouts new, so paying $38K your looking at 18% off new rrp.
Considering that people are getting on average around 12% for a brand new car, IMO the extra 6% (~$2700) due to the car having 11,500km isnt really a bargain, thats what $0.23 per km, if I were you I'd be asking for a little more than that, how much I'm not sure...
Redbook has the following:
Valuation Prices
* Private Price Guide $26,200 - $29,000
* Trade In Price Guide $21,600 - $24,400
* Average Km 15,000 - 25,000
So given the car was a demo, and that it has almost average km for the model with those options I'd say a figure around $35K may be fairer, but thats me having a pretty big stab in the dark.
Thanks for the quick reply Nath.
That's a fair statement. However do take into consideration that most of the people who've achieved ~12% have done so with a corporate discount which I don't have access to unfortunately. If you re-do the the average figures for recent purchases without a corp. discount its about 9.5%.
For those who've purchased recently here in VIC - any advice on getting a better rate? I'm all for purchasing a new vehicle provided I can get a decent discount. I can do without the leather and dynaudio, but the satnav / sports package is a must.
I also got quoted the following by the first dealer locally I've had a chance to see:
Golf MK6 118TSI DSG
Metallic Paint
Sports Package Cloth
MDI
RNS510
Rear Parking Sensors
$41,000 (RRP: $43,781 according to his breakdown)
Even after 30 minutes of several offers being made and running to his boss, that was the best he could do - walked straight out.
Anyone have any dealers they could recommend? Feel free to PM me thanks
True that corp discount has been used, however people have achieved the same discount on other cars without the corp discount.
I guess on problem is that the 118 is a v. popular model so may be harder to negotiate on.
Good luck in any case.
