Golf Mk6 - Prices and Dealer Negotiations

Hi Guys,

I recieved a price on a GTI, 5 Door, Black metallic paint, DSG, sunroof.

$46,000 drive away.

Does this seem like a good deal?

Anyone? I need to know if this is a good price before I go any further.

Question to all you Golf Experts.

Ive got a very nice price for a TSI.

Since the car has already arrived at the docks as a standard comfortline with DGS, they cant fit too many of the options that they would if it was already installed overseas prior to shipment.

I was thinking of sweetening the deal by saying to the dealer "if you throw in tinting and fog lights for that price ill buy it right now". Or "ill pay an extra $500 if you can throw in this and that"

I was wondering what were some of the good accessories that dealers would be happy to fit (as they have high margins) that I could squeeze out of them.

It would be a bit hard to get fog lights put in, because it wouldn't have the wiring loom, switch and the bumper insert would have to be changed. You could try for mats, mudflaps, boot mat.

What about the bluetooth car kit.

Is that a universal bluetooth kit, or do you have to specify the brand/make of the phone?

Can only quote based on NSW on roads but here in NSW that spec would be $50,900 on the road, so based on a $46K purchase thats a 9% discount which is good but not great.

Up to you if you want to push any further, if you do you'd prob want to look at a price between $45 and $46K for that spec, or ask them to throw in something else for free such as tint or MDI.
