yea, thats what it should be in theory, just wondering why a friend, who went to negotiate a deal, then at the end said he was eligible for corporate program, didnt get anymore off.... if its VW paying they would have said yes and the deal would have been sealed?

    so who knows....

Its true that the more options the 'bigger' the discount due to the increased margins, but of course they also get more money out of you.

From my understanding the Corp discount entitles the dealer to a refund from VW Aus how much though I cant say.

For me I think it comes down to the dealer you go to, I took one from stock, Red with only MDI, and added reverse sensors and ended up with 11.7% discount from memory, so pretty happy, and I know elisiX got a great deal on an optioned++ ordered vehicle with no corp discount.

Use the spreadsheet in here to work out what the car costs with delivery etc and then aim for say 10% of total cost in discount, anymore is a bonus.

JLR no finance isnt a plus for a dealer either as they make more money if you finance than if you pay cash, I combined cash down (large amount) with finance to get my deal, not sure if that helped as we didnt go into much detail with financing during negotiations.

I can recommend Beamm at Sutherland McGrath Sydney as he gave me a good deal, and I'm sure there are others here have similar for other dealerships.

Good luck with the wheeling and dealing

Maybe, but i've been to 3 in VIC. I think ill have to cut my losses, as I need the car pretty much straight away. Cant wait 4 months. I think ive come to realsise, that if i want it NOW (car in stock), i have to pay a little bit more.

Ah, thast makes sense. Oh well to late for that.

if you finance they actually make more so its good for them. Dont tell them if you are financing or not, negotiate the deal first.
Im not sure who they are. Davids been very helpful though.

there are reps on here so pm them? not sure if thast allowed but.

Just cause you're taking it from stock doesnt mean you should pay extra, in the end they need to sell the stock, having it sitting around does them no good.

Mate in the end the car is worth what you are willing to pay, if you're happy with 6-7% then thats a great price for you, and thats all that matters.

Well I got close to $2800 for corp discount. Depends on what car it is to how much discount you get too.

Really its a car for the missus as my daily is a datsun 240z, her first option was the subaru xt but when we were out driving one day she mentioned she loved the look of the new golfs, thats where the gti comes in (fuel savings over the xt is also a plus) and its a bonus for me as I'll enjoy driving it too. But as I like to squeeze every possible last cent out of a deal it will come down to dollars in the end, it always satisfying knowing you've got a great deal.
