Finance_Analyst, I must ask you to come along with me when I go along to get my custom R
ps I just modified the GTI price calculator elsewhere in this forum, and for QLD, driveaway before discount for that config is 59810.
As I say, the cheapest Golf R (given the demand) will be due to some simple Economics 101 ofDid you get the cheapest Golf R on the roads?, then the answer is no.
1. The dealer is desperate to sell cars as they have had a bad month
2. The car is a bad spec or colour and no one wants it (cue Silver GTIs...)
3. The car is a demo which has been thrashed by thousands of wannabe and serious buyers
4. The car (for whatever reason) has been in stock for a long time and the dealer might be getting assistance from head office to move it (a la BMW and Audi)
Like my dad always taught me, there is no such thing as a free lunch in this world. If it is really cheap, then there is something up....

For the "5dr Golf R Manual with Dynaudio, bluetooth and MDI for $55k drive away in QLD."
Nah. Start with the Golf R calculator . Whilst I haven't updated it recently, its is still correct for QLD. Drive away price before discount is $57,348.90 (depending on the insurer, it changes a $10 or so). So the discount is about $2350 or ~4.1%

However, expect to get 'smashed' on resale on your silver colour 3 Dr R come trade in time....... But if you enjoyed it during that time, who cares????

It would have to be Rising Blue, 5 door DSG (concession for the missus), Dynaudio, RVC, Park Sensors, ACC.
I take it BT/MDI are standard if you spec the car now.
Hmmm I guess I didn't do too bad then...got my MY12 R for $56,500 drive-away which is 10.3% according to the spreadsheet.
Golf R 3dr, UG, Black 19's, DSG, Leather, ACC
In the current Golf Promotion (free ORC), who pays the ONC : VW Australia or Dealer?
Hi
I'm in the market for a 103TDI Comfortline. VW is advertising no dealer delivery or on road costs if a car in stock can be delivered before the end of June.
Reading these forums, it is mentioned that you should negotiate at least 10% off the drive away price.
But given the current deal of no dealer delivery or on road costs, I was wondering if it is still reasonable to expect 10% off the dealer list price?
My local dealer has a list price of $34,490, so I was wondering if it would still be reasonable to aim for $31,000 (or is that pushing it too far)?
Any advice appreciated. thanks
I think you would be pushing at 20% discount.
