I picked up the 90TSI manual, metallic paint, comfort pack, mats and tank of fuel for $28K pre EOFY sale.
I paid $29000 drive away for my 90TSI manual with comfort pack and metalic paint...about 2 months ago...before the sales etc.

anyone here bought their 90tsi during the eofy sale?
which vw dealer would you guys recommend in melbourne.
frankston? berwick? others? bla bla?
i like to deal with a nice agent who would be flexible =) hahaha
The 90TSI is the absolute base Golf. The EOFY sale means they're paying all your onroads - dealer deliver, registration, std plates, compulsary third-party insurance (or the equiv in your state) and stamp duty. Since the 90TSI is only $24990 (Manual), and the onroads for that could be ~$3,915 depending on who you are and where you live ($1995 dealer delivery, $1110 rego & ctp & plates, $810 stamp duty), that equates to a 13.54% discount!!!! That is already a very generous discount. In fact, many people have negotiated hard and walked away happy with a deal on far more expensive Golf models with a lower % than which the EOFY automatically gives you on the 90TSI.
In other words... you could practically go to any dealership and you'll get basically the same price - either the advertised sale price very close to it. Maybe the different between dealers might be freebies they throw at you. But don't expect any further cash discount. That way if you can't get anything further off, you won't be disappointed, and if you do, then you'll be very pleased.
sounds good mate. i figured it would be hard to go below 24990, but perhaps they could give me freebies, or allow me to add-on some options at a discounted rate.
however seems like if the car i want is out of stock and delivery would be after eofy period, i am not entitled to the sale price? =( is that the way things are?
Yeah, the conditions are that it must be ordered and delivered within the sale period. This doesn't mean you can't just revert to "regular negotiations" though
picked up my golf today
black 118
sports pack leather
sun roof
37.5 drive away cause they ****ed up and the car i ordered was ordered wrong
Has anyone been quoted or paid for their R yet?
Wondering what sort of prices people are getting.
Also wondering how long after release of the GTI people were able to get corp discount?
I ordered my GTI the day they were officially released (October 31 I think it was), and got the corp discount. I'd done my homework in advance and got offered corporate discount pricing from several NSW dealers before I drove the car and did the deal locally here in SA.
The suggestion at the moment appears to be that the R won't be discounted so generously (if at all), at least in the short term. Not surprising given its keen pricing and (evidently) high demand.

hi,
Does anyone know what would be the RRP for this spec?
I'm unsure of the calculations around dealer delivery/rego/stamp duty to work out a final price...
Just trying to work out a ballpark figure of a 'good deal' (-10%) before I go near a sales person..
118 TSI DSG
