    I don't wanna go create a 45,000KM servicing cost thread yet :p
I'm in the same situation... my 45k service is coming up...
According to this Capped Price Servicing | Volkswagen Australia
it seems that my car is eligible or am I wrong? I bought the car in June 2011, however it was demo and was registered in January 2011.
    Am I eligible or not?

    That would be a no.

Capped price serviving applies to :

"Polo, Golf, Golf Wagon, Scirocco R, Jetta, Passat Sedan, Passat Wagon, Volkswagen CC, Passat CC, Golf Cabriolet, Eos, Tiguan, Passat Alltrack and Touareg models with their respective transmissions (manual, automatic and/or DSG) first sold by an authorised Volkswagen dealer on or after 1 January 2013; and New Golf manual and DSG models first sold by an authorised Volkswagen dealer on or after 27 April 2013.

I had my 3-year service recently, and asked what I'd be charged for the service when I was booking it in, over the phone; they quoted a figure well over the capped price. (The capped price schedule does include a price for my car model and year, but obviously I'm not eligible as I bought the car new in 2010.)

When I asked the dealer to clarify why an existing and loyal customer wasn't eligible for the price that someone who bought an identical car used from VW this year would, they quickly gave me the capped price. I suggest others try the same tack.

I asked exactly the same question for my 30000k service, but they wouldn't budge. So I took my business to another dealer which turned out to be $150 cheaper.

Do service dealers try to beat each other's pricing? to get your business?
Or this is just my wishful thinking

    Capped servie price increasing?

    Hi guys,

I've just called my local service centre for a quote to service my golf. It needs it's 45,000km service.

VW website puts capped service at $465 + pollen filter + brake fluid (if needed) and valid until 31 January 2015.
For my 2012 diesel with DSG.

Was quoted $512. (But of course assured they would be at least a bit under it).

When I asked about the capped servicing they said that the price was going to increase by 10%.

Has anyone heard of this? Or are they playing silly buggers with me and just skimming off the top?
The office girl was quite dumbfounded when I said that the capped price was fixed until 2015.

My Passat TDI cost me $307 for its 45k check but I provided my own oil which would have added $118 onto that so $425 all up

Didnt include any filters or fluids apart from oil filter. Pollen filter is $24+

Was in a similar situation to AdamD and m_f, quoted by my regular dealership (where I bought my vehicle) $1500 for 60k 4 year service (GTI's done 50k). Asked them why and they just said I wasn't eligible for fixed capped price. Fair enough but then why do their website indicate otherwise when I enter my vehicle details? Didn't get a 'reasonable' answer when I asked why the $400 premium.
Anyways, went to another dealership who quoted me $1100, savings of $400 (but not without issues, I am now using a Polo courtesy car till they rectify the issue). On top of the $1100, I also spent additional for cleaning injectors, wheel alignment and changing brakes and rotors. Utterly dissapointed with dealerships.

Yeah this is so confusing now... I am in the same boat as you now..60K service coming up...I hope I will be as lucky as AdamD...the website when entering the vehicle's stats does state its about $1200....will need to ring up and see what they say...
