Gee even Auto Leaders quoted 215! Wow 410? When my Camry was in fixed price servicing it was 130 for the first four services. It is supposed to be good value not a hold up

IMO, the pollen filter, brake fluid and Haldex fluid really should have been included in the scheme.

What difference does it make that they have time-based replacement intervals? It doesn't justify their exclusion from the capped price because it's still part of the normal service schedule, as defined by the factory.

As long as all the work is done according the factory service schedule, I don't see why one should pay more than the advertised price.

As far as I can recall, only MY10-onwards Tiguans have a time-based interval for Haldex, at 4 years.

I dont see real 'capped' prices. Look more like standardised prices.

15k service used to be $330 at denlo parra incl car hire (petrol included too).



But of course the yearly inflation mustbe above 10%. Professionals like lawyers up their fees by 10% a yr.

However i appreciate the small things that they do, ie headlight adjustments / greasing the door hinges, which not all independants do.

the whole system is only for cars whose warranties started ticking on or after jan 1st 2013, right?

I'll keep getting my car serviced at Audi for now thanks. Much better prices than VW, much much much better service, a loan car included so i can get to work, and i dont need to book my car in 4-6 weeks in advance.

My local VW dealer wanted $420 for my 1yr/15,000km service.....which is essentially an oil change plus basic check over. I got Audi to do it and it was $270.

my brother has fixed price servicing for his 2011 hilux. he pays $180 a service. usually its about $400. toyota subsidises the dealerships the gap for the 3 yrs/100k km that the fixed price is in place for. hence, why so cheap. so its the same service, just at a subsidised rate

...as long as you get the same quality oils, fluids and other parts at the recommended intervalls, then theoretically there should be no problems, but I still remember Daewoo cars with the free servicing that was aslo subsidised and it just didn't work. But, hey it's not all that bad, the car manufacturers know that most new car owners will renew the car every 3-4 years or so, and the rest.......... aaarh you get it.
