    Golf GTI MK6 Rattle Poll.

It is extremely difficult for anyone to read the current active thread to understand how common this issue is. I hope this poll will help those thinking of purchasing the GTI MK6 to make an informed choice.

I'll give you an hour or so to edit this thread into something which actually makes sense before I delete it.

I'm all for you trying to get more information on whatever it is that you are talking about, but would you like to actually tell people what information you are talking about?

External trim rattles (B pillar etc)?
    Door seals?
    Dash / other interior components?
    Wastegate Actuator Rod?
    Exhaust/Downpipe Scavaging?

If it's then related to one of the others, then maybe I'll merge it or put the poll into the appropriate thread etc...

I haven't voted because although I'd choose the first option, the statement "I will not buy another VW in the future" is a little extreme. How about:

"Yes it is like a rattle snake, it annoys me, and it should be fixed under warranty".

In addition, options like "I am deaf, so sorry that I can't help you there" or "Mine does not rattle but it has other annoying issue(s)" doesn't help as being the only "No" options...

Agree - I wasn't deaf the last time I checked, and mine doesn't rattle - it makes the normal noises most turbo cars make.
    Its here!

    I'd vote with:

My car rattles a little at times - an attribute it shares with virtually every vehicle anywhere near its price bracket - but I love it regardless.

But why is it extreme? Maybe this sound annoys some people?

I mean If you bought a VW instead of say a cheaper alternative, because of the luxury appeal of the brand and build, and then find it has a never ending "rattle" to it, I'd be pissed too. One of the reasons I am getting an R instead tbh. And at the end of the day. Its not like anyone has a gun to your head, making you choose it. Freedom of speech should be exercised, surely.

If thats what some one wants to choose, they should be allowed to in a public forum. If they want to choose, I love the sound and it adds character, they can choose that too.. Fair game.

I can't vote either of the options as it doesn't apply to me either 1st or 2nd options.
I did hear on very little occassion what sounds like slight rattle of the b-pillar just beside my right ear, but it happened only when hitting a rather deep pot hole, so no option A dont apply, and option B neither, and neither option C as it's not completely rattle free but where I came from my old r33 had constant passenger b pillar rattle that I am getting very annoyed but been accustomed to for 4.5yrs of ownership, then my v35 was miles ahead in terms of rattle but still there are some creaks or squeaks a few months before selling from rear driver area, possible rear strut or springs... that's after 2.5 yrs of ownership...

in summary I do not expect even a german brand like VW to be rattle free unless you're willing to pay a premium of $200k top of the line MB S-Class for example. but as car grow old rattle will just be a part of life... oh and I could not spot the common exhaust/dump pipe rattle that people are discussing in other forum when the turbo spools and engine rpm hits around 2500-3000rpm.... can't hear it in mind or it may be there but for my standard it is not something that i worry about.

It's extreme because obviously this poll has been created during a moment of frustration rather than a moment of thought. The poll options are not clearly thought out. It goes from "I have the rattle but don't mind" straight to "I have the rattle and I'll never buy another VW". Then there are the "no" options which are also clearly written in frustration.

I think this thread has been here long enough... I'll just close it.
If someone wants to discuss a proper course of action (as has already been taking place in the last few pages of the proper thread), then they are welcome to continue the discussion there.
If someone also wants to create a useful well-thought out poll, also present the options in the thread, and we'll arrange it.

Already you can see there are posts in here where even the GTI owners are not sure what the purpose of this thread and poll is....
