Hi,
I ordered a new GTI last weekend and here are the specs:
- GTI Mk 6 5 Dr
- Deep Black
- DSG
- 18" wheels
- Tint
- 3 years / 45000km free service
It's $44650 driveaway and the car will arrive in mid June. Is this a good deal?
Thanks.
Sounds pretty good to me.

I figure the drive away to be $50695 without the 3 year/45,000km free servicing. So that's a 11.9% discount plus whatever the servicing is worth. Awesome deal
Looking at Car Service, Auto Services, Car Repair, Auto Repairs for the MKV Golf GTI DSG (since MK6 info isn't up yet), the service costs are:
1 year 15,000km $144 - $208
2 year 30,000km $425 - $563
3 year 45,000km $144 - $208
So all up $713 to $979
So you've saved some good money - but $2000 would have to be a bit of a stretch (unless they're including additional things like brake pads or other things which are not included in the standard servicing costs).
For the Mk6 GTI servicing, when i picked up mine they told me the following:
15,000km: $400 - $500
30,000km: $500 - $600
45,000km: $400 - $500
This is just for the basic servicing, excluding anything extra that needs to be done. Also, from what's been commented before, servicing costs does vary dealership to dealership, state to state...
@ manyoo: Based on what's in the manual, over 3 years this should only be 3 minor services... Major services isn't until 60,000km.

Mods Ordered: RTR ECU Remap | 3" Milltek TBE | VW Racing Intake | Revo Intake Pipe |
Accessories: Gloss Black rear VW badge | OSIR Foot Rest | P3 Gauge | GTI Scuff Plates | Yellow LAMIN-X fog light tint | PIAA Yellow Fog Light Globes |
Thanks guys. It seems the salesperson is not providing the correct information. I was told 15,000 and 30,000km are minors and 45,000 is major.
Golf MK6 GTI - Deep Black - DSG - 18" Detroits
Purchased my Mk6 GTI today. Leather, sunroof, 18" Detroits, MIDI, 5dr, Tornado Red DSG, Bluetooth for $48,200. Pick up Thursday so no wait. Seems like I have paid a few thousand more but still happy and I get the car straight away,
I'm only new to this site, and VW's. But I finally bought mine just today. Apparently its an up to 6 month wait which is a bit crazy but I test drove it and it was fantastic.
Salesperson was great. I could have saved another $500 by going to another dealer, but the guy was not very nice so I didn't. Custom order so doesnt qualify for promo.

In was thinking of adding the Sat Nav but not sure if its better to do so now, or if there are better alternatives?
Does anyone have any good advice on these things, cause I could always add the sat nav tomorrow if I ring up promptly I suppose?
And I am very confused about the many different types of bluetooth kits? Whats better factory or aftermarket n Why?

Looks like a pretty nice spec and deal congrats.
Easy (and can be cheaper) to add NAV later, and you can sell your stock 6cd to go towards it. Costs around 1-2k from europe/ebay/group buys, or around 3k for local install including warranty at places like European Autotech & Harding Performance.
Edit: ignore this: However the dynaudio package comes with Nav doesn't it?
