Thanks Nath had not really thought of it that way. Makes sense now you say it.

Anyone bought a manual 3dr with no options. Got quoted $38900 with corp discount. Anyone have a better deal?
In NSW that would be ~$44,030 on the roads, so that's a $5130 discount, or 11.65% discount, which is about on the money.

Golf VI GTi white, 5 door, DSG, MDI, Bluetooth, 18" Detroit alloys, delivery in 4 weeks (car in country)

Used "corporate plus" discount through being HIA members and we had the benefit of negotiating on 2 cars at once (my GTi and business partner's R36)

GTI $43,800 drive away with full tank of juice. Retail they reckon $51,500 but that was with $3995 delivery which is crap so I guess retail is $49,500. So about 12% discount which seems consistent with other deals on forum. This forum certainly helped us determine a target price, so thanks!

For interest, the R36 was $69,500 - white wagon, DSG, sunroof, satnav, bluetooth, MDI, auto tailgate, full tank of juice.

Thats a great price for the GTI, almost the same as mine and I didnt get BT or the 18s, so well done there, I guess buying 2 cars at once helps!

Yeah this place helped me a little on price too

So whats the RRP on the road of the R36?

The dealer reckons $82k retail for the R36, realistically probably $80k after reducing the dealer fee. That's about 13% off - another dealer couldn't get under $74k and reckoned our price was $1,000 less than he paid for his own R36 with staff discount, he couldn't believe we got that price.

Just put down deposit for my 118TSI. Here are the specs:

    Candy White
    DSG
    Carpet
    Tint
    Full Tank

no earlier than mid-November production, 28th Feb delivery(basically they swaping with other dealers)

I was more in favorate towards a manual. But the DSG is sooo good and smooth, and the fact that other people can drive it made me go with the DSG.

Didn't get any options(except DSG if that counts), because I dont want to lose values on options when selling it. And I am already happy with the 8-speaker sound system and trip computer. If the cloth getting old later, I can leather it with <$2000. If I need GPS, just spend $300 get an external one. ACC - I like the standard suspension, sporty enough while soaking most shocks. Park assit - I can pretty good at parking, so skip. Blue tooth - well, too expensive to be useful. Alarm - I can fit later? Sports pack was the option I wanted the most(compared to other options). But still managed to say 'NO' lol, because I really only interested in 17" wheels.

$33,700 drive away(without corporate discount). I figured carpet + tint should cost me at least $300 if I get elsewhere, so might as well save the trouble. It's about 9-10% off as I calculated myself. Not a top deal, but I am happy. But please point out if you think I can get a much better deal.

    thanks

Thank you. This forum really helped. Or I could've walked in and out without any discount.. like a young couple who I met at the dealership today..

    Quick question for GTI orders.

Is the GTI supposed to come with GTI badged floormats, or are they extra? Mine only came with standard non-embroidered floormats. I'm not overly concerned, but wondering I was sold short.

I know there aren't many of you, but can others who've already received their car please confirm either way?
