$57k Drive away. Private sale and I was not entitled to a Corporate discount. (My work isn't in their list)
I threw $2k down as a deposit also so this should all help come resale time in the next 2-3 years.
How does that sound as a discount? Really happy with the purchase regardless.

Yeah its a game I have never played before tbh. Always bought a demo or something in stock and i've never paid retail.
I am generally very happy if I get the car at RRP without any on roads which in this case it sounds like i've done the same. (DD being $3k and rego etc ~$k)
I guess I could've pushed them harder on price but without the corporate discount I was bound to pay a little more.

Hey you've done well, me I wanted it now so only had the MDI and threw in the reverse sensors (as the camera is factory fit) ended up with a pretty good price a little under $44K so about $5.5k off or there abouts, pretty happy with it, but some people round here expect lots more than that in discount.
Hell I have my car, have a smallish debt (paid some in cash and financed the rest) and in the end thats all I care about....
Love my GTI
Yeah your deal sounds awesome. And having the car right away is a significant plus!.
I put $2k down on the $57k and with a 3 month wait will put another $5k down before picking it up.
Financing only $50k will make the transition much much easier when it comes time to sell.
Yeah I was pretty happy and when I threw in $10K cash they were drooling at the mouth.... lol
Was surprised though that given it was one week after release, and that they're weren't many around that they were willing to part with it for that price, I guess though its partly a marketing exercise in getting them on the road for people to see....
I hope this doesn't happen, but I have a feeling that the MKVI will sell just like the MKV did - in bucketloads.
I think with the MKV release, soooo many people paid RRP and were stung badly.
So I think its nice to see that there are discounts being offered right off the bat.
Not wanting to steal his thunder, however I think he means that if/when it comes time to sell what ever is left owing to the finance company will (hopefully) be less than what he will get for the car as he has paid a portion of the purchase in cash.
Yup. That's exactly what I meant.
I'm not silly enough to think that I will get most of my $11k in options back when I sell the car.
So by laying down a considerable deposit, I guess I am protecting myself from a nasty shock down the road.
