i dont think you can compare the leather used in the Captiva and outnback and calais to that in the VW. I have owned all 4 (apart from the Calais, but my brother has had several as coy cars) and the korean/japanese leather is definitely of a different quality. The VW just seem to fit better over the seat....
More opportunites have been lost from indecision, rather than wrong decision....

I've sat in enough VWs & BMWs to know that leather isn't for me whether it be the carboard like Korean stuff or something a bit less manufactured.

As I said at the outset, it's a personal thing.

Sunroofs induce the same polarity in people - you either love them or meh. Strangely, I don't like sunroofs but would love to get back into a Cabrio again.... go figure.

Corporate Discount - VW Golf GTI

    Hey Guys,

I am looking to upgrade my compnay car and am looking at Golf GTI 5 door DSG with Sat Nav and what I am after is a idea of pricing. Also looking a price for the above with detriots

I have contated a dealer on here, yeah I will get back to you, but nothing. I even bought a new GTI $54,000 worth last year and after three emails to that dealership and salesman still can not get a price. I am trying to work out my figures to see if I will be ok with my car allowance.

I know my company is still active on the list, any dealers here that may be able to help would be great.

    thanks

you are right silver fox. I should give up my time, because A dealer who wants to sell cars because that's there job can not respond to messages to do there job and provide information, not hard information, even from a dealer which was happy to take $54 k of my money last year after I walked into there

I am in sales and for me and I think a lot of other woul agree service equals sales.

CarSales new car showroom function is really good for getting an initial price on things, it shows the price for each model, the options and the avg dealer delivery and taxes for your state. Its good to see if they're overcharging for options or dealer delivery.

Heres the link for a 5dr GTI DSG New Volkswagen Golf Hatch Specs

Also never feel like you should stick with a dealer, especially is the service is sub-par. If they don't have the time for your custom don't give it. I learnt that from the various dealers in Brisbane thats for sure!

If you are time poor then fax a selection of dealers with your spec & prefered colors. See who gets back to you.

Some sales folk are a bit tunnel-vision & think that you can only get a sale if the customer is sitting across the desk from them & they make 6 phone calls to the manager to approve the "amazing price" they have quoted.

I am in Canberra, and am trying to work out whether it is worth going to the trouble of buying from Sydney, or just buying from one of the two dealers here. Looking for MY12.5 GTI DSG, with nav, leather, carbon grey.

Any advice from Canberra GTI buyers?

Go to Lennock and see Cal Bruton. He's cool and won't mess around with you. I bought my R from him. If you're a sports fan look him up on Wikipedia before you go, he'll give you an autograph if you ask nicely. If you work for the government the odds are you're eligible for Corporate pricing, it takes the hassle out of haggling and will put you very close to their best price, check up on that.

I think it's important to support local jobs if reasonable to do so when purchasing. If you end up purchasing out of Canberra check on the stamp duty and rego implications before committing.

I bought my gti from Sydney, only because I wasn't completely happy with the dealer service at the time. Since Gerald slaven have opened in belco, I think that it might be worth seeing what an be done locally as there is no longer the monopoly. In saying that, it wouldn't hurt to give a couple of Sydney dealers a call.
