Thread: Golf GTI Mark VI Specifications and Prices

  1. #1121

    MY11 GTI

    - DSG
    - 5 Door
    - Deep black pearl
    - 18" Detroit wheels
    - Leather seats
    - Sunroof
    - MDI
    for $48,950

I went through a car buying service agent who was introduced to me by my relationship manager at the finance company.
According to the GTI calculator spreadsheet (thanks to Corey_R) here that seems to be a saving of 11% which I think is not too bad for a car in stock - I needed the car pretty soon. I am hoping to pick it up by end of this week. So that's all good but there is a bit of concern for that particular car - I will bring it up in the appropriate thread.

Thought I'd share my specs/price for my 2011 build GTI (currently enroute to QLD)

    GTI 5DR DSG
    Candy White
    18 Detriots
    Blue tooth
Standard othewise (no leather, roof, Sat nav etc)
Driveaway price = $44,600 after factoring in Corporate Plus discount (as an ICAA member) and additional dealer discount.

Overall, a discount of c.12%. It must be good as I was told by the dealer that a 2010 build car is the same price, so I figured waiting a few months was worth it.

White seems to be the most popular colour as I could have got a red now (one is sitting at the Port of Brisbane same spec with no one taking it thus far...)

Are the driveaway prices quoted in this thread inclusive of stamp duty?

Most do (cause that's what "drive away" means). However there are occassions where people have purchased interstate, and therefore stamp duty and rego etc is paid separately.

    Hi Bakks,

I placed my car order from Victoria for $50,700 (excluding stamp duty and rego). I live in ACT where the rego for golf gti is around $900/year and stamp duty is 3% the value of the car. So, the total on-road cost is around $53,200 (ACT registered).
Sometimes it's cheaper to buy the car from interstate!
    Cheers,

WOW that is huge.. i thought our $570/year was a rip off.. that is just a joke in my view, or does the rego vary with the model of car? the figure i mentioned was what i paid for my old TDI.

The "Rego" in ACT includes NRMA CTP. However, $900 is a bit of an exaggeration. It's only $781.20 for the Polo GTI, Golf GTI or Golf R (or any other vehicles between 1155 and 1504kg).

    Guys,

I checked with ACT rego office. For a Golf Gti, the rego is $894 - to be precise! Yes Corey, it does include the NRMA CTP. Corey your source of info is correct but the info on the website is not very accurate. I called them up and was told $894/year for golf gti!

I do not think that rego varies with the value of the car but with the weight of the car.
