If you were to rip a CD as WAV files to your computer, then burn them back as a CD with a competent CD writing program, you'll then have opporunity to write the "CD Text". If you do that, then the car will display the Artist/Album/Track info like it does with MP3s. At least it does on my RNS510.
But if you're already doing that, you may as well burn a data CD with MP3's as Ryan_R suggested.
On my last trip 3 CDs out of about 30 displayed information on the screen. All were genuine discs. 2 were reasonably new, one was approximately 8-10 years old. I'm disappointed with the CD manufacturers.
