    The Good
    • The DSG (now that its fixed)...beautiful rev matching down shifts.
    • Sports mode on mountain roads.
    • Auto dimming rear vision mirror.
    • Engine and exhaust sounds....brilliant.

    The Bad
    • Glasses compartment refuses close sometimes.
    • Very very weak reversing light.
    • No illumination around key hole.
    • No xenons as standard....lame.
    • Fuel filler cap holder is awful.

    The Weird
    • Guys in civics and lancers seem to have an obsession on trying to race...

Ahh yes, this is something that I noticed on the first night drive. I don't know how many $ VW saved by omitting this, however it seems to be at odds (i.e. cheap) with what is a very classy interior.

I always found the same with reversing in the oldies Mk5 Golf. Only 1 side has the reverse lights, never noticed on a Mk6

Again, on the same car, fuel filler cap is annoying. No where to put it (Mk5 at least) so with the little cord they put it on, its dangling against the paint work. If that is the same on the Mk6, I'll be detaching it and sitting it on the bowser while filling. Even my utter rubbish ****box fraud falcon had a semi working holder for the cap!

And there is alwys someone who'll try to line you up. I couldn't get 3mins from home without some knuckledragger in an SS etc try and give me a run in the XR6T. Hoping that isn't the case with the R because I don't need much encouragement.

You two should look at the manual in relation to the fuel cap... VW have already thought of it, and it has worked well for me for a few years now (on both my Golf and Polo). I know it works for others too from arguments had in other threads on this topic

LOL I don't own one yet so I'll pass the buck and say mum didn't read the manual to HER car But nothing obvious has stood out when I've borrowed the car?

What's the solution there Corey with the fuel cap?

I've also found it a pain and end up wrapping it over the rubber hand grip on the nozzle.

    *runs to get his manual*

Read the manual, Ok I hang my cap on the side toward the fuel tank not the side away, this maybe causing the issue. We will see when I fill up later in the week.

I found these two to be one of the few bad points as well.

    good:
The engine. Smooth and silky. Naughtily revs past it's red line. Great power delivery and sounds great.
DSG. Best "auto" transmission I've had, but still prefer a manual.

    Bad:
Brakes. They stop the car fine, but I hate the brake pedal feel! Much too soft. Too much movement and not enough resistance. Actually thought there was something wrong, but the dealer says they are normal.
Stereo. Features are good but the interface is clunky and too slow.
    Automatic wipers are rubbish.
