I think it's just that it adds weight, and distributes the power to the wheels, and causes more drive train losses
But damn... we've just got through pages of 3 vs 5 door, don't start with the AWD vs whatever

    3 Door on a MK5 looks a lot better than the 3 door on a MK6 IMO......

aesthetically they may be 99.9% the same but I think it has something to do with the head/tail lights. It flows better with the curves of the 3 door, the MK5 that is. The MK6 looks better as a 4 door.....esp the Golf R hahaha!

4 doors for more whores lol

When braking with AWD if feels more controlled, I am no boy racer, no track hound or traffic light grand prix driver but I would shell out more to own an AWD for the safety aspects as well as the perceived benefits.

If some one says they think the AWD is a loss on a vehicle then it is a key purchasing decision.
Like me, you have enjoyed the positive aspects of driving a Subaru. Don't any of these guys drive on wet, hilly roads? I live in an area that gets lots of rain and has lots of steep hills, and hill starts with FWD compared with AWD (and the full one like Subaru give) would make everyone move to AWD.

Wet hill starts, lots of rain, wet conditions etc, sounds like hot hatch martial, can't beat the new dual rail 4D4 Prado for those duties.

As triode would say: sure you could do it in a Prado, but would it be any fun?

The wife won't let me get anything but AWD now.. I gave her the Liberty and guessing when we go to replace that it will be very interesting to see if she wants to move from an AWD system

Woo..hoo... you might be the first on here to order one. How much did you pay for it if you don't mind me asking?
