Perhaps now the MkVI GTI will be fun to drive.
The thing I find odd is that the 0-100km/hr time is the same as the Pirelli despite the power increase - albiet by only 4kw.
The standard MK6 GTI had the same 0 to 100 figures as the MKV GTI, so it's not that odd.
But it's great that the 35 has the Pirelli/R/S3 motor

I think they are lying about the 0-100km/hr time for some of their vehicles... German makers tend to under quote performance figures time to time.
Couple of years ago BMW M3's official 0-100 figure was deliberately under quoted not to upset M5 crowd.
I think GTI MK6 cannot possibly have exact same 0-100 figure as MK5's
Great ad. Don't like the wheels though.

You are probably right about the lying of figures part. At the recent dyno day, the ATW figures between Stg1 Pirellis and Stg Rs were in the same ballpark(different tunes taken into account). Even though the R is supposed to be about 18kw more powerful than the Pirelli.
The Pirelli/ED30, R, ED35 and Scirocco R all have identical engines just the tunes are different so one would expect the power outputs to be identical once a Stg 1 tune is put in.

As a friend said to me, he really likes the golf as a car, he just wishes they made one for men.
