Maybe it is - in Germany all the DSG ones would be left over :)

agree. ED35 won't be collectable in a way a Ferrari 275 GTB 4 Cam is......
If anything, depreciation is more and in 3-4 years be worth little more than a normal GTI of the same age and yet pay lots more $$$$ now (as no corporate discount)
Me neither - too expensive. They do look nice in person but they should only be a few thousand $ more than a "normal" GTI.
Agreed. It will be like the MK5 GTi Pirelli edition vs the normal GTi. They are only a few $k more 2nd hand (in fact there was a neat Pirelli in Newcastle about a year ago for $28,990 with 40k on the clock) but there was a considerable difference in price when new.

But the R and Pirelli don't pull like a 35...
I bet they were "paid" to stand there......
I looked over the fence at Lennock in Canberra yesterday, saw a Candy White 5 door ED 35 sitting there for anyone looking for one. I bought my R from there, they are pretty good blokes, Cal Bruton is the man.
Took me a few seconds to figure out what the 35 was from side on. The rims caught my attention first, is it just me or do the rims look like a Ford design?
yeah i thought they looked a bit XR5ish as well
