they say sometime in Sep. There will be an official VWA launch date TBA and i should get my car two days later. So im hoping end of Sep / early October!

Actually $55K was what the Pirelli's were retailing at until the GFC hit and then the dealers started discounting after that. If you add up the same options on a regular GTI, you would get to about that price.

Finally a purchase to bring this thread back on topic. Congratulations mate. Without doing the math did you get anything off the sticker price?
Also, what was the motivation for an Edition 35 - were you hanging out for one or did you go in to buy a golf and get upsold to a 35 Edition? Now how to tell the wife that only one of the kids will be going to University ;P
