Hence why it still sounds like market positioning to keep it from being better than an S3

Ordered my 5dr MT GTI on 21st Nov. no build week yet. my dealer says the status is ordered. he says the computer says it'll be a May 5 delivery but that doesn't really mean anything. could be sooner or later. he blames the gov tax breaks on new car sales at the end of the year doubling the usual number of orders during nov and dec. and he mentioned something about Australia being only allocated 30 cars a month.

Hi Guys, had some more issues regarding delivery date of my GTI. Car has been allocated week 10 build. ( car was ordered last week nov) and dealer has told me I should recieve car in mid June. The annoying thing about this is the dealer continuously makes out that he has done us a favour and we are priveledged to be recieving the car. I know I am priveledged to be recieving the car but a dealer doesnt need to tell me that. anyways we asked if we could change to a leather option and was advised it was too late. is this true considering the build date?

is it true that most buyers have been given false promises? i purchased 2 weeks ago and i was given the deadline at May. Seeing i desperately need a car for work... is it most liekly to be delayed like 2 months!? which makes it July?

No chance of a May delivery - My mate at Sth yarra VW has been told there has been a 6-8 week delay, on top of the already quoted 4mth wait... Load of crap

I think that the demand for the GTI, and Golf in general, has far out-numbered estimates. So at this point it seems that the dealers really can't give accurate delivery dates as the manufacturing is so overwhelmed.

To anyone that doesn't have a 'dead-line' to get the car by, then just be patient, it'll get here. To those who do have a dead-line, maybe you should be reconsidering your options.

Yay, i just got the call that my car is less than a month away.

It's on the Queen Sapphire which is due in melbourne on the 24th, so 10-12 working days after that i should be taking delivery.
