GOLF GTI delivery dates

I ordered my GTI today and was told to expect a June delivery, seems the wait is around 5 months currently.

Did the "factory resumes builds in week 6" thing come from a single dealer and take on a life of its own from there to become indisputable internet fact, or are there 3+ dealers saying that?

When I ordered my GTI last weekend, I brought up the week 6 thing with the sales manager and he said that that story was bullsh*t. He said he had GTI's being built last week and next week.

All I know is car salesmen didn't earn the reputation they have for nothing... :icon_shrug:

At seems a few people who've purchased from a few different dealers (even different states) have said this...

Although I was originally quoted week 6 for my car, it turned out that it was actually built in week 2, so production was well underway throughout Jan. She's currently sitting on a cargo ship making its way to Southhampton UK :banana:

Note this was for an order placed in November (2nd day after launch).

That's a long time.

Ps does anyone know if there are new MK5 GTI's still in stock? 10k+ cheaper wuold be alright.

That is a long time, but thats for a spec'd car my local dealer has a CG and Black model on the lot for sale of mk6 GTIs, not sure about mk5s I'm sure there are they did have one local (3 dr with leather) not sure if they still have it, and arent there brand new R32s in stock still?

Yeah not much you can do, I am not aware of any CW with 18s around. The dealer was honest and said June was worst case scenario, so I may be lucky and have it come earlier. I'd rather know worst case than get my hopes up and be disappointed.

Hi all.

I placed an order for red mk6 in wk2 of Nov - only factory options were ACC/MDI. Was told early April delivery. Now been told 29 April at earliest....

Ah you guys, I got mine in red in 4 days. Just settled for standard, only added tinted windows and bluetooth. Test drove demo car Sat 12th Dec, ordered car same day, got my new car from the warehouse on Wed 16th Dec. They said any other options, had till wait till at least April, so I thought f*** it, this saves me money and I get it straight away.
