I drove the gt tdi and loved it- however looking at the numbers (and I could well be wrong) the engine is the same in the GTD as in the gt tdi? 125kw & 350nm 0-100 8.2

wouldn't that say it is essentially an updated gt tdi (all be it in the mk vi body with higher equipment levels)??

Spot on, but common rail will give better off boost performance, so less lag feeling. The MK6 has even more emission control, and that alone puts me off upgrading, but yeah the difference is mainly cosmetic.
