Where are the government lead incentives to go diesel (green), ie lower rego , higher tax deductions for business users etc. Europe is so far ahead of Australia in offering these type of incentives.
It may have something to do with the fact that all of Australia's diesel is made from imported raw materials. Current thinking appears to be focused on improving the take up of E10 (we can make the ethanol in country) and LPG (of which we have plenty of reserves). My local council gives discounts to diesels based on their green rating when it comes to the cost of parking permits.

Hi all,
Saw a GTD at a dealer today which will remain anonymous. I was impressed! The interior is nicely understated compared to the jacky in the GTI and the wheels look very nice with the shadow effect on the inside. I think I might have to seriously consider this car. Yes, for me diesel is important for the torque surge. I truly believe non-diesel drivers have to experience it first hand before they really understand, it not all about power (kW's).

Amen brother.
