my clutch is exactly the same, as were the cars I test drove, its not a fauly, I like it as it allows to you rest your foot on it without actually operating it, manuals are not dangerous if you know how to drive them, DO NOT go onto the road until you have had a lot of practice, stalling can be very dangerous in some situations, stress easily builds up and can lead to bad decisions, so practice in a car park or very quiet streets, preferably with someone else in the car, and don't learn in a new car, ask someone you know to take you down to a carpark in exchange for a slab

also it doesn't hurt to give it a bit of gas before the friction point, when your learning it's easiest to give it some revs and then let out the clutch, controlling the acceleration with the clutch

also if there's no one you know with a manual, take a few lessons, they cost a bit, but cheaper than your insurance excess

Do you think I can manage to drive a car by my own after my section. Paying someone 100 dollars for two hours while 100 dollars can have a manual car for two days of non stop practicing. The rental place is quick close by and there is no hills I believe.

Or should I just forget about it and go for the GTD? Still can get 1000km per tank and looks better, but it will hurt my wallet.. Some one quoted me 44k drive away for a DSG with Bi-Xenon, any good?

The GTD does seem to fit your bill nicely. But I thought the drive away sale doesn't apply to the GTD?

I bought it, Candy White, 28.5k drive away with rear parking sensor and floor mat. Might not be a very good deal but they don't have the black one left. Going to tint the car with Tint a car using Octane. Should I buy a Garmin GPS for it as well or just use my phone? Any good dash mount for Galaxy S?

For that price I take it it's not GTD Where you end up getting it from?

I'm pretty impressed with the fuel consumption of the bluemotion - using less than 1/3 of the fuel of my 4WD around town, and am not taking it that easy.

I wonder if anyone's bought a glacier blue version yet.

It's a bluemotion. They dont discount GTD too much. I got it from Five docks, but Parramatta has a better price. i dont like Glacier blue.
