can't say i noticed more power, but I do like the new gear up and downshift indicator in the top right hand corner of MFD encouraging you to be in the gear that gives best fuel economy.
Hi all,
In recent warranty work (yessss moreeeeee) They did the ecu upgrade for the recent recall and to me it seems like there is more power now, the car feels much more perkier and seems to pick up better mid flight and accelerate through the gears quicker.
I knew it had to be done but i expected the engine to be less fun after, and to be honest i didn't leave the dealership thinking of power, but just noticed it. I was to busy cranking the stereo hoping the speaker rattle was fixed.
The car is certainly more fun and lively to drive than before and am loving it.
Anyone else noticed this?

Just got a letter from VW on an 'engine software upgrade' service call for 1.4 TSI engines. Does any one else got it? I remember they had similar one few months ago (with my 1st service)
I believe there was an ecu remap for the 118TSI engines in the Golf VI a few months ago but no idea if an ooficial letter was ever relased.
It might have just taken this long to flow through to the consumers.
It is fanny but today I received "Service Campaign 24S4" letter from VWA ... was not sure (it is talking about 1.4l TSI engine):
- is it for my wife/daughter's car (90TSI) - but VIN number is not matching ....or
- or repeat (or additional update) of previous "Campaign" from a few months ago - for my previous car 118TSI (traded in for GTI Oct '09)... but back there I advised VWA, in writing, that 118TSI was traded in and that should contact VW Wangara - in that case VWA database is in need of an urgent Customer Campaign
MY16 GTI 40
I also received the same letter "Service Campaign 24S4". Good to know that I wasn't only one who received the letter.

Goodbye, 2004 Polo Silver Match
Hi every one recently the check engine light has come on and staying on the car is driving really strange has a lot of kick to it, but majority of the time it wont rev past 3000rpm, just makes some funny noise as if the turbo is struggling to kick in. some times on a cold start car will run fine red line every gear if i want, up until the engine warms up.
mods that i have done so far is APR ecu flash and stage one apr intake. i did have a forge BOV installed but have taken that off and a boost gauge but have now since taken it off also. Has any one had this problem before ?
