Getting the LEDs in custom button covers to work (MK6 R)

**This is a re-post from the mods section due to a lack of activity**

    Hi there,

I searched around for the best place to post this and I guess since my question is electrical based - this will do.

When I bought my MK6 R the previous owner had replaced the "blank" switches above the shifter area with aftermarket ones bought from CarStyle4you. From left to right I have: EPS, comfort / sport, R logo, park assist and garage door opener.

The problem I have is that the LEDs in the aftermarket ones (R and garage door) do not work. Not because they're broken - because he never plugged them in. I discovered this by following the installation instructions on the pdf on the website. I managed to get as far as pulling out the two aftermarket switches, but for the life of me I can't figure out how to plug their power cords in anywhere. The pdf instructions are in german and google translate has thus far not proven to give accurate instructions.

TL;DR, I'm after instructions (with photos please) on how to get the LEDs in my aftermarket buttons to work. Small simple words and pictures would be lovely.

    Thanks,

    (CarStyle4you)

    Link for reference.

It could not be easier to hook up - i had them in my old Golf R and now have them in my GTI. Unless the previous owner chopped off the plugs, you should have 2 wires coming from each button (about 15cm long) and they end in a little 4 or 6 pin plug.

Remove the plug from your traction control or suspension button, plug the plug from the carstyle4u button into the bottom of one of these buttons, then re-plug the original plug into the bottom of the carstyle4u plug (like a piggy back or double adapter). Then use a bit of tape or hot glue to hold it all together. This will now give your button power so it will illuminate when you have your headlights on.

As for the garage door button, this hooks up in the same manner as described above, but you will need to also connect it up to your garage door buzzer. This can be a bit of a pain and requires some careful soldering.
