Looks freaking awesome all dark and low.
Great work.
Copypasta from my build thread from VWG.
My story behind this car was originally I was going to purchase a Mk6 103TDI but with the options as well and at the end of the day, adding all those options onto that car which mostly came standard with the GTD, it just became illogical to buy it so I opted for the GTD. The reason I didn't get a GTI instead was because since I'm still on my green P's, can't drive petrol turbos. The options that came on the car were the Bluetooth module and MDI.
The idea of having air ride came when I saw SUGA and couldn't believe how damn low it was and after lots of encouragement, I finally cracked and hit the BagRiders site and started plenty of research. After one month, my car was kissing the ground. Not 100% sure but I think this is the first bagged GTD in the world and the first bagged mk6 Golf in Australia.
Here's the components of my air ride setup:
Front suspension: Air Lift Slam Series
Rear suspension: Air Lift Slam Series
Rear shocks: Koni Sport
Compressor: 2x Viair 400c
Air tank: 5 galleon raw aluminium
Management: AccuAir e-level through TouchPad
All parts were purchased as a kit from BagRiders and thanks to rayray086 for giving me so much advice whilst I was undertaking this and another big thanks to RamSpeed (particularly, Thomas, Andrew and Jack) for getting all this into the car! Also many kudos to Dub for encouraging me and helping me get through the tiresome install process.
Cosmetic mods:
- GTC GT-CX 18x8.5 et45 matte anthracite (supplied by BMR Autowerkes)
- Kerscher GTI front carbon-fibre lip (supplied and installed by BMR Autowerkes)
- S2T Shift Paddles flat black with grooves (bought off CSR and installed by Daneel)
- 20% tint all around
- P3 boost gauge (bought off EdwardoW, analog boost line hooked up by Exoticars)
Future plans:
- roll guards on all corners
- new wheels to more suit the low look
- rubber to fit the wheels
- intake; need to get Arthur @ Exoticars to look into putting my Heineken beertake in
- bi-xenons
- OSIR bits and pieces

Looks freaking awesome all dark and low.
Great work.
Slamming goodness.
Looks awsome.
How does it ride with the air ride setup?
MK4 GTI: Custom Code Stage 2, K03S, 42DD exhaust, Bilsteins, whiteline F&R, 312mm brakes
MK6 GTI: MY13, DSG , very stock
Ducati 749
Loving it
Looks wicked, not a bad car for a P Plater.
Must get heaps of chicks in that beast![]()
MODS- TOO MANY
Surprisingly good. Feels just as stiff as stock suspension if not stiffer. I expected a bit of body roll since they took out the sways but none at all. Haven't tried to drive it slammed yet as I still need these tyres to last me another week but will definitely see how it goes lol.
My girlfriend loves air rides. If only she'd let me play with her bags more often![]()
That's sweet dude! Awesome work!
2008 VRS Wagon. Yellow, very yellow!

Mate! I am so jealous of you. That GTD looks AWESOME!
I didn't have enough money for the GTD, but I did test drive it. You are one lucky guy. I do love the wheels you have on them.
