    Fuse - 12v power outlet

On the Mark VI GTI, which fuse is for the 12 aux power outlets?

I had the power plug for my Tom Tom come apart today in the socket and I think it shorted out the fuse both in the plug and for the outlet. I've tried another plug in my wife's car and it works but not in mine.

I have checked all the fuses in the box in the engine bay and they all look intact. There is no circuit diagram in the owners manual or in the fuse box, so which one is it? Anyone know what amperage it should be - or is it in another location?

Both outlets - console and boot are dead so I assume they work off the one fuse.

    It's probably inside the car.

Open the driver's door and pull the panel off the end of the dash — unclips quite easily.

Can't tell you which fuse — it varies from car to car depending on what's installed.

Look inside the car on the side of the dashboard there is a cover that you remove. It's fuse no.32 marked red in the picture.

Idle and Transporter - thank you

If both of you had not said it was on the end of the dash I would not have found it in a month of Sundays. How many fuses can one car have? Pity it is not pointed out in the manual.

The layout is mirror image to the diagram... but it pointed me in the right direction... mine has one or two more rows, but I found a dead 20amp near the bottom. Of course no apparent spares.

Sigh... this has ended a bad day.... scraped a rear wheel on concrete... and just opened a letter with a speeding fine. Hopefully three in a row means the end of it!!

    Thanks again.
    Steve
