Hi All

Just curious to know if anyone had a problem with their fuel gauge reading incorrectly or not indicating when the fuel is low?
My 118tsi DSG golf is only 2 years old (25000 km) and had been running quite well since I had bought it and it had just had its 2 year service. Only four weeks later while driving the car broke down (gears dropped and engine lost power). As per the fuel indicator it was just under 1/4 full (not yet in the red). NRMA checked, couldn't find what was wrong and it had to be towed to the service centre.

The centre checked the car and noted that it was actually empty of fuel!! There apparently was a problem with the fuel sensor (so there was no indication/warning on the dash that the car was close to empty)and it needed to be replaced. Fortunately it was done under warranty.
