I think you would agree we all try different mods to meet our needs and it doesn't always work out how we would like.. doesn't stop you trying though does it..

Well, I decided to see what all the fuss was about with the LED footwell lights so got the ones out of my box of bits I bought months ago and installed them.

Took about 10 minutes, not much holding the suckers in but they went in easy (I have the flat ones).

I had to then wipe off the red tint on the lenses I had applied.

They are OK I guess, had to turn the setting down to the lowest it would go. Easier on the eyes at night I guess.

Will see what I think after a week.

I will be going the opposite way and painting my lenses. I put some (non flat) red LED's in and the next day was cleaning the inside of the car when I smelled a burning electrical smell inside the car. On closer inspection it was coming from the footwell area. I removed them and found they were actually melting the individual LED's off the lamp. Just goes to show you get what you pay for (Cheap ****). All my other interior ones are fine, but the footwells are on all the time when the headlights are on and were getting very hot.

Sounds like faulty LEDs as they should be cooler than OEM bulbs

I coloured the lenses initially but the lights look better.

Edit - you didn't buy off the Asian eBay seller down south did you ? They are dodgy as hell those LEDs

Let me guess, you bought this rubbish ??

If so, throw them out and request a refund

They are very poor quality

If putting the old bulbs back use disposable gloves to stop oils on the bulbs from touching them

Nah, went for a drive just now and decided I prefer OEM white light

Red just looks try hard

Going to give them to the daughters bf for his Ford (for what I paid for them)
