My mistake, I thought it was a stand alone feature.

Thanks for the quick replies. Yeah it's shame we don't get the folding mirrors as my garage is small and it'll make it easier to park inside.

Yet we get the 510 head unit and cruise control standard here yet it is optional in other markets. Even NZ gets the 310 headunit as standard in the GTI.

This is the only feature I wish was available either standard or as an option
Can't say i have a need for it, but it just looks cool.

Agreed, that is one thing I regret with my GTI... it would be an awesome feature too for city folk parking on the street.

Sure we do. To prevent inconsiderate prats at car parks from walking into your mirrors and damaging them. I see it happen all the damn time.

I want the wiper electrocution option to incapacitate ticket cops..

Folding mirrors would be sweet too.

I tested the reversing mirror - and that functionality works fine. The folding mirror icon in the manual is missing from the mirror adjust knob - it mustn't be offered for the Aus market for some stupid reason. We have tight car parks and garages - why leave it out? I have the mirror heating function, but I can't really test how well that works in a Perth summer. The knob is really difficult to turn to the heating function - it almost feels like I'm using too much force to move it, and then the knob selection line points vertically instead of at 10 o'clock, where the icon is located.

Try parking in Korea/Japan, then you'll know about narrow parking spaces. When i was there on holidays i noticed every car has folding mirrors but can't really say we need them here. Although notice pajero's have the feature and some other cars.
