Hi everyone,
I got a new mk6 golf (tdi manual) a few months ago, and have had a few months of driving bliss. Awesome awesome car that I love to death!
Last week tho' it started stalling alot, and in first and second gear it would get really sluggish up to 2000 revs... then it'd make an awful 'i'm about to fall apart' rattly noise in the engine (which goes away as soon as the clutch is engaged again). It's only got 4000 k's on the clock.
Anyway, took it into the service department today, and they've booked it in for 3 days in September. They said they think it might be the flywheel - not sure what that is... has anyone else had this problem or am I lucky enough to have bought a lemon?
Sounds like your Dual Mass Flywheel (DMF) is carking it - unfortunately not a particularly rare issue for manual VW TDIs. Lots of complaints about it on the Briskoda forum.
A search on DMF should find you a fair bit of info.
