Can't wait to see this beast! Love the white, it's going to look sooo clean. Shame they didn't release the TR option here.

Elsewhere Guy_H had mentioned that he wanted to get the DSG "just for fun" this time. But as this was from the first batch of Golf R's, a DSG version wasn't available with the other specs he wanted. So yes, this is a manual.

I've enquired previous with Guy_H about doing a Stage III upgrade on a DSG equipped car, and he has let me know that APR have done many Stage III upgrades on Audi S-Tronic and VW DSG gearboxes without issues. If you planned to track it regularly, upgrades should be persued, but for every-day-road-use, it's fine.

Btw, if you want to see how much the DSG can really handle, check out the YouTube - APR Stage 4 Development Teaser - UPDATED! Now With More Runs!
And yes... that speedo is in MPH

    Awesome beast Guy.
Hopefully the exhaust will allow anicer note than the stock R as they were a bit wussy at the training day until under boost.

Can't wait to see a Twin turbo kit for these, hopefully HPA can do something like that.

Would have loved a red one - I believe you can get one special order, but you have to know people in the right places & be prepared to wait!

DSG & Stage 3 are great partners for the street, I still regret not being able to get my hands on one, as I would love to nail some 0-100 times!

Hi Guy_H, considering that this Golf R has a newer version of the Haldex than what your Audi S3 had (I'm not sure if the Audi S3 has been updated in a more receny MY), will you immediately be fitting the aftermarket haldex controller, or see how the R goes with the standard equipment first?

Other sources have claimed that the Golf R's updated Haldex does a better job than the aftermarket devices for the R32 etc.

    Hi FLM,

On the S3 with DSG - its ~ 1 second quicker- but I cant remember if that's with or without the fuel pump upgrade - I reckon it should be close to, if not below 5 seconds. maybe you can test for us? (My data box is currently in Melbourne being used on the prototype RS4 supercharged cars).

    Corying,

Updated Haldex already fitted. It is the same Gen 4 unit as fitted to the MY10 S3 & TTS - we are also fitting the optional 3 way switch. Updated pic's coming soon!
