Not if he's stuck in his seat/racing harness :P
And he's just been rear ended :)
he wont be stuck - the car is burning so the seatbelt will probably be burning as well - just tear it off, she'll be right :)
A captain should always go down with his ship...
or GTI
A funny bunch aren't we all :icon_lol:
Tsk tsk...we shouldn't mock the safety of racing drivers...:dots:
Here's the part, I don't have the part number handy but could look it up if the dealer can't find it.

Thanks Maverick,
I've found a place that will install a bracket and fire extinguisher for $170 Contact European Autotech | European Autotech Sydney. They haven't yet made one for the mk6, but all that is involved is confirming measurements, and making a custom aluminium bracket and then attaching it to the existing seat bolts. I'm going to get this and the APR software from them in the coming weeks, so i'll keep everyone posted!
i'd say that if someone were going to mount a +5kg metal object directly behind your lower limbs, that 25g rating might be an excellent idea. exiting the vehicle after a wreck can be hard enough without a shattered leg. as far as accessibility goes, make sure the exinguisher is not a powder extuinguisher if you plan on using it to fight a fire while you are still in the car. you could do it, but the only positive would be that the powder from the extinguisher would probably kill you before the fire did. even if it didn't, you'd be in bad shape for having breathed it.
