Is the extended warranty available to a subsequent purchaser of the vehicle? For example, if I was to go and buy a 2011 Golf R, can I purchase the extended warranty for the car if I'm not the original owner? And/or, can the current owner of the car purchase the warranty, then transfer it into my name?

Usually yes but read the PSD

Did a bit of googling, and the PDS states that an extended warranty is transferable to a new owner for a $50 fee, but doesn't mention if the warranty can be purchased by someone who is not the first owner of the car.

It is my belief that the extended warranty can be purchased so long as the vehicle is still within the factory warranty period, whether the original owner out not. Haven't had any personal experience doing iit this way, so I may be wrong. Can anyone confirm?
