I have the option to purchase 3 years for $1095 via AWN. Extended Used Car Warranty | Roadside Assistance Australia – AWN
Does anyone know how this stacks up against the Allianz policy ?
From what I can see I must get oil change every 6 months or 10,000km. Which is more often than the VW specifiy.

To be blatantly honest its barely worth the paper that its written on.

I bought if for my old MKV Golf through the dealer that I bought the car off for $500 for 3 years and I still don't think its worth it.

I made 2 claims, the first of which they originally rejected but after numerous phone calls managed to convince them to pay for the parts.

The second they flat out wouldn't have a bar of it.

Thats just my experience, you may have a better one but if you do decide to buy it I would push for around the $500 mark.

I trawled the forums recently to find the latest information about extended warranties.

This post is just to let everyone know that competitive prices for the standard VW and Allianz extended warranties are still available from Kloster Volkswagen and Gold Coast Volkswagen.

Both of those dealerships beat the quote from my local dealer for the standard 2 year warranty by 35-45%.

Two weeks ago, the person I spoke with from Gold Coast VW tried to convince me that the VW Extended Warranty was only available when the vehicle was first purchased and then went on to try to sell me their own product. Suspect he didn't know what he was talking about - hopefully others will have more success.
